My point is not to dispute the need for policies. My point, however, is to continually challenge companies to articulate what the goals and objectives of each of their policies are, and how they are measuring effectiveness against those goals and objectives.
Here are my three key questions on policies:
1. Why do you have this policy?
2. What is the policy suppose to accomplish?
3. How do you know that it has in fact accomplished that – what is your evidence?
